Having woken up somewhat late on Saturday morning I decided to head to Yen So as it was a nearby place that I have not been to yet. The reason I delayed going there for so long was the lack of proper pedestrian route to run. In Hanoi the park can be 3km away from you but if no pedestrian path connects you there, it can as well be 100km away. Slowly jogging through a surprisingly crowded road that should have been empty at 5am, I made my way along the river, past the street markets and several busy roads to Yen So. I have not seen a large open space like this. It’s huge. Especially if you spent weeks running in the crammed Hanoi streets. The area does not have many tall buildings. The next thing I realized is how few people actually come here to run.
