Reflections on not running

I haven’t been running for nearly 5 days now. An unusual break for someone who aims to run every day in January. I was not feeling great and could not find a way to get myself out of the door. So many excuses to stay home instead of making the effort either early in the morning or late in the evening. Not having any exciting place to run nearby is a factor but a small one. It’s mainly my own laziness. Running is just running. I started to have a lot of side projects which are based on the data I collect while running. This has become a distraction. I do not focus as much as I used to on running. Generally, over relying on devices and technology makes you weaker as a runner. This is a sport that happens in the mind as much as physically. There is nothing to depend on besides yourself. Well, it’s good to be your own lab. Lesson learned. Now get back to running!
