Life on the Run

“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.”― Thich Nhat Hanh

I spent my holiday running without having the chance to record and share my runs. My Garmin had a glitch which wiped out all my GPX files. This felt like a new experience that freed me up from having to share my runs after they happened. I could take my time and decide what and when to share. There is no urgency in sharing what I have seen, and most of the GPS precision can be easily recovered by making the route follow the path between waypoints on an OSM map. Relying on my memory instead of devices to tell me where I have been created a more meaningful and intentional experience for me. I think I have also started to be more present on my runs – I actively try to remember the places I have been to. I think this added a new dimension to my running.
