Running is like drawing. You create something you cannot fully explain with both. You run and you create your route, your state of mind, you build your fitness. You draw and you create an image on a blank sheet of paper. There is no utility to either activity. You engage in them because they are important for you. They are you. You cannot predict what you see on your run, just like with a drawing you cannot see how it looks like when it is finished. You have to run or walk each step to finish the run. The same with drawing, you cannot take shortcuts. Both drawings and runs emerge as you engage in them. The first steps set the tone and direction of where you are going. The first strokes decide the drawing you are making.
