It’s rare to have a fall while running; I can count those occasions on one hand. Last week, I had a particularly nasty fall when I landed on my face and had a metal fence drop on my head-an unlikely combination I wouldn’t have imagined even if I tried. I’m lucky not to have broken any bones; I walked away with only scratches and bruises. This experience teaches me several lessons: firstly, the importance of clarity and prioritizing what truly matters, as such events remind us that our time is finite. Secondly, it shows how little technology can do for us in these situations-my phone screen got completely broken, leaving me without navigation or the ability to call anyone. Lastly, it’s better to err on the side of caution; even unlikely accidents will happen given enough chances-as mine did when I simply chose to run on another side of the street. How surprising life can be… Onwards!
