Fall

Running and falling

January 12, 2025

It is rare to have a fall while running. I can count those occasions on my hand. Last week I had a particularly nasty fall by landing on my face and having a metal fence drop on my head. Such unlikely combination I would not have imagined even if I tried. I am lucky to not have broken any bones and walked away with only scratches and bruises. What does this experience teach me? First of all, having clarity and prioritizing things that matter. Such events are a reminder that my time is finite. Secondly, how little can tech do for you in such situations. My phone screen got completely broken leaving me without navigation and ability to call anyone. Thirdly, it is better to err on the side of caution. However unlikely is the accident, it will happen given enough chances. All it took is for me to run on another side of the street. How surprising is life… Onwards!
