On 30-minute runs

Why running even for a short time matters

May 5, 2025

I discovered the joy of running for 30 minutes every morning after completing Badwater 267 VR run. I would usually not bother going out for such short runs. I am a long-distance runner. Why do something so short? It turns out this is a great habit. The distance does not matter but the effort changes the day significantly. I generally have a more productive and engaging day than if I stay home and do the work. The distance adds up over the week too. Sometimes I run 45 minutes, other times it’s only 25. It has become my routine to run every morning and to think (or not think) about my day ahead. As my day schedule is structured around kids going to school, I find that these morning runs give me breathing space.
